Questions from HR and finance teams
No. StraightLineRX works alongside your existing health plan. When an employee fills a covered prescription through StraightLineRX, it is processed through our network instead of your group insurance. No disruption to current coverage, no insurance claims generated for those fills. If a medication is not on our formulary, employees use their regular insurance exactly as they always have, and it works exactly like it always has.
1,050+ medications are covered, including many chronic-condition drugs your employees are likely already filling. Well-known examples include metformin (diabetes), lisinopril (blood pressure), atorvastatin (Lipitor, cholesterol), levothyroxine (Synthroid, thyroid), sertraline (Zoloft), fluoxetine (Prozac), escitalopram (Lexapro), albuterol (asthma), amoxicillin, and many more. We recommend sharing the formulary search link with employees before enrollment. When they see their specific medications listed at $0, they understand the value immediately.
Yes. The $25 flat rate covers the employee’s entire household, including their spouse and dependents. One flat rate, one membership, the whole family.
Yes. These are the same FDA-approved medications your employees already fill, dispensed by licensed pharmacists at the same pharmacies they use now, like CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart. Nothing about the medication changes. What changes is the price, because the benefit is administered by Liviniti, an established national pharmacy benefit manager (formerly Southern Scripts) that has operated for 15 years and serves more than a million people across the US. Liviniti is built on a transparent, pass-through pricing model, which is how the cost comes down without anything about the drug or the pharmacy changing. This is a real prescription benefit run by an established PBM, not a discount card or a workaround.
Your HR team does essentially nothing. You can send us a CSV of your employees, or we reach out to your people directly with an enrollment link. Whatever works better for you. We handle all of the onboarding, teach employees how to save on what they pay at the counter, and motivate them to actually use the benefit. No HR system integration, no benefits portal changes, no open enrollment window required.
Yes. StraightLineRX can be fully employer-sponsored, fully employee-paid, or a shared contribution. Many employers find that full sponsorship drives the highest enrollment, and higher enrollment means more prescription spend diverted from your plan, which is where your company's savings come from.
No long-term contracts. Month-to-month with no penalties to adjust enrollment or cancel. P.S. Not a single company has canceled or left us yet. You will probably want to stay too.
65,000+ retail pharmacies nationwide, including CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Costco, Rite Aid, Kroger, Publix, Safeway, Target, and most regional and independent pharmacies. Employees almost never need to change where they currently fill. And yes, covered medications can also be shipped directly to their home for added convenience.
Most employers are live within 2 business days of the initial call. No underwriting, no open enrollment window, no IT work required. If you are ready to move, we are too.
